Descent pig and hog fileshare download

Put desCEnt.exe, DESCENT.PIG and DESCENT.HOG somewhere on your device. The only important thing is that they are in the same directory. Putting them on a storage card, micro drive etc.

Can anyone guide me through the steps to install dxx-rebirth/Descent 1 (I've got the Descent 1 'Anniversary Edition' CD) onto BSD 12?
I've read the included pkg info, but it's nebulous, at best. It says you need the original .exe(s) (setup.exe?) file(s) from the CD, which I've got, but it doesn't explain which .exe(s) or what needs to be done with it(them)?
Riffing off the gog.com directions.....I downloaded and tried 'innoextract setup.exe ~/app', but that produced an error: 'Not a supported Inno Setup Installer....Done with 1 error'.
I've searched both the forums and the dxx-rebirth home page for instructions, but found little.
Can anyone familiar with Descent provide some overview here?

if you want to <a href='diary/2007/03/ford-vj-geneva-very-big-thing' target='_blank'>compete with after-effects</a>, then you need to be able to produce the various type animations directors are used to, and you need to do so at a decent framerate. to animate say the entry of a character onto the screen, you would create the animation for one character and then iterate that operation along the string. the problem is, rendering each glyph inside the iterator is both massively expensive and massively redundant, but thats the only approach qc allows, <a href='diary/2007/08/quartz-composer-text-sequencing' target='_blank'>hacks on the back of hacks</a> apart. a much better approach would be to have a single patch that takes a string and produces a data glob of rendered characters and their sizing and spacing information, firing off just once at the beginning and feeding the result to the animation iterator: at which point you’re just moving sprites around and the gpu barely notices.
